How should one choose a career using astrology as a tool.

In my 10 years of astrology practice I have come across many people who ask questions like,

• What will be my profession,

• Will I become a CPA/CA

• When will I become a lawyer.

• Will I become successful in business?

When I listen to such questions I pity their ignorance of the subject (Astrology). Though it is not their fault at all, this misconception of astrology has been allowed to take root in the psyche of the people, because no astrologer has the guts to tell his client or prospective client that this is not possible to tell. There are other astrologers who know it and have the guts to tell but who has the time to educate the people?

Lets come to the point and matter of interest.

Step 1: Understand your basic inner destined abilities from an astrologer through your ascendant. In case you do not know the same you should find it out by  providing your date, time and place of birth.

Step 2: Compare the above info with what you have actually developed in so many years, ask yourself, whether you found such characteristics in yourself and whether you are comfortable with the same. Also explore possibilities of developing those identified characteristics through training.

Step 3: Based on your 10^th House cusp find out the astrological/destined profession fields you will be able to do/complete with joy, satisfaction ease.

Step 4: Finally compile all the info collected in the three steps above, match it with your education, experience, resources available. Resources can be society, the environment, your locality, your contacts etc. Make a decision. If in doubt or if you have more options and input, ask your astrologer again or come ask me (LOL).

One note – Astrology was never meant to be a predictive science, it was and will always be an Information System and a tool. Those who have matured to this level, the practitioner and the client, have always benefited.

The Union Budget of India will be presented on 26th of February 2010 by Dr. Pranab Mukherjee – the honourable Finance Minister of India. Here is an attempt to predict what will be the inclusions or the nature of the budget.

India’s following birth data has been considered.

Predictions

1. Mercury the lord of the second house in the tenth house indicates policies to promote foreign trade and to support a surplus BoP.
2. Mercury trine to its own house, the second house, prompts the government to release a budget which increases the purchasing power of the populace, increases the national wealth, which again comes from a positive balance of trade and payment. Mahaveer strongly feels that this budget will have the sole target of national income, financial stability of the country, its reserves, the strength of the currency et al.
3. This year there will be a marked increase towards communication, infrastructure with regards to movement of cargo and people, IT, education, care (in all forms – including but not limited to hospitals, old age homes, hospitality, alternative health care systems, defence systems for protection, housing too). This seems to be the case as transiting Moon is in conjunction with its natal position. Unfortunately as transiting Mercury and transiting as well as natal Moon are in a hard aspect to each other, there will be increased taxes too to support the above and also to use he above facilities.
4. Moon as lord of the fourth house, twelfth from its own house implies policies not properly tuned to protect, utilize and gain financially from the natural resources. The housing and care sectors again are indicated to be hit here in some manner.
5. It seems the speculative tendencies this year will reduce and for the major part it will be a bearish year as the policies may be against such, which may again be of the nature of taxation and increased documentation. This due to applying opposition of transiting Sun to its own house and the degrees of the fifth house being midpoint of transiting Jupiter and Venus both natural benefic planets, while Jupiter is a malefic planet by lordship for India.

Summarily this year’s budgetary policy will be accepted widely with least criticism. This budget will be remembered for a long time.

This article is an exercise into her Vedic Indian Sun Sign Horoscope looking for issues and predictions related to her marriage.

In June and July 2012, note that transiting Jupiter will pass over natal Rahu (Dragon’s Head – Moon’ North Node). Transiting Rahu and transiting Jupiter will aspect each other. Rahu is the lord of the Nakshatra (Asterism/Star) in which her Natal Saturn is posited in. Rahu too thus has a role to play in her marriage. Transiting Venus in the same period will pass over natal Rahu and will be in conjunction with transiting Jupiter while in opposition to transiting Rahu.

In the light of the above observations only I strongly feel that she will marry in January/June/July of 2012.

What is Mangal Dosha OR Kuja Dosha or Manglik Dosha

In Indian Vedic Kundali Matching there is a lot of importance to Mangal Dosha, Kuja Dosha, Kuja Dosham, Manglik Dosha, Manglika Dosha, in these days.

People it seems fear so much from this dosha that they just pay attention to only Mangal Dosha and not anything else in the Kundali Matching.

So what actually is Mangal Dosha, why so much fear and worry about it? Let me explain how it is formed.

When Mangal is in the Ascendant (first house) or in the fourth, seventh, eighth or twelfth house, Mangal Dosha is formed.

As per Dev Karalam (South Indian treatise on astrology) when Mangal is in the second house then also Mangal Dosha is formed.

Mangal in these houses aspects the seventh house of matrimony and the eighth house of longevity and sexual activity in the married life. Mangal, being a natural malefic and a hot planet of anger and temper, its aspect or placements in these houses influences the following.

In the ascendant, it gives a hot temperament and aspects the seventh and the eighth house, which hurts the matrimony.

In the second house, Mangal gives temperamental speech and as it aspects the seventh and the eighth houses, it again hurts the matrimonial home, through speech.

In the fourth house, Mangal gives hurt emotions and as it aspects the seventh house, ones influence of hurt emotions and feelings will hamper the marriage.

In the seventh house, the partner will also be hot tempered and as his Mangal aspects the ascendant, the person himself or herself will be temperamental so sparks are deemed to fly everywhere in the married life.

In the eighth house, Mangal destroys the longevity of oneself and with its aspect to the second house, creates hot speech, influencing marital harmony.

In the twelfth house, Mangal will aspect the seventh house and as it is in the twelfth house of bed comforts, one may be highly active in sexual activity and hamper the marriage home due to frivolous sexual demands and activity.

Above are given the true effects of Mangal Dosha/Kuja Dosha.

Unfortunately most of the time, people purely and instantly predict the Mangal Dosha, with just noting the planetary position of Mangal. But many people do not heed to the notes of Parashar about the natural cancellation of Mangal Dosha.

Whenever Mangal becomes the ascendant lord or Yog Karaka, the dosha gets nullified, naturally. Mangal in conjunction with or under the aspect of Guru (Jupiter) as Guru is a wise man, it propitiates Mangal. Moon and Mangal together in a sign (conjunction), will also nullify the Mangal Dosha or Kuja Dosha. Debilitated Mars (Neecha Mangal) is sign Cancer, nullifies the Dosha. When one crosses the age of 28, Mangal Dosha or Kuja Dosha gets naturally nullified as by that time one naturally gets more matured about one’s anger and temperament.

Further, even if one has a Mangal/Kuja Dosha, if the prospective bride or groom, has Shani in any of the 1,2,4,7,8,12 houses the Dosha gets nullified, because Shani, is the opposite of Mangal, it is cold and practical and so can handle the temperament of Mangal.

The Shadbala strength should also be checked, because if it is weak in Shadbala, is of Vriddha Avastha or Mrut Avastha or Baal Avastha, Mangal cannot do any harm.

After cross checking all these above points and issues, should one responsibly say whether the client has a Mangal or Kuja Dosha or not.

Folks, amazed? We all just celebrated the New Year at Mid Night of 2009 and this crazy fellow Rikhav Khimasia (that’s me – and I seem to be crazy?! – man, I am) says that the true new year begins on 14^th Jan 2010? Have I gone nuts? Or there is something else? Has the rest of the world lost it, if not Rikhav Khimasia?

Well all of us are right, about the New Year beginning on 1^st January, the calendar year, but as planets rule us and our lives, at least the seasons and our life, we should follow the planetary patterns to actually define time periods. Getting confused? Losing interest?

Well, well, well, lets put it this way. All systems of Astrology give more importance to the four Solstice Points or the four Angular houses and signs of the Natural Zodiac, when the Sun enters these signs and thus the house, seasons change. These signs are Aries (Mesha), Cancer (Karka), Libra (Thula), Capricorn (Makar).
